Dear Friends -
Thanks for taking the time to read our August newsletter, there is a lot to catch up on since our July newsletter.
IN THE NEWS:
The team is thrilled to share the following announcement. We have been recognized as the best place to volunteer in Westmoreland County in 2026 and were the runner up for best non-profit organization in Westmoreland County in a contest conducted by Renda Media and voted on by the public. This honor belongs to all of our dedicated handlers and our therapy dogs, along with our supporters who nominated and voted for us, and all of the organizations that welcome and place their trust in us. Together, we continue to make a pawsitive impact, one paw at a time.
MAKING A PAWSITIVE IMPACT:
July found the team busy making pawsitive impacts across the beloved communities we serve. We made visits to, or participated in, over thirty events this past month including multiple nursing homes, senior care facilities, and hospitals. We also served the youth of our community during visits to several summer camps and childcare centers.
We were also the proud recipient of a certificate of recognition for participating in the Rotary Club of America District 7305 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards program. We would like to thank the Rotary of Greensburg for hosting the event and inviting us to make a pawsitive impact in support of the development of future leaders from across Western Pennsylvania.
UPCOMMING EVENT: YAPPY HOUR 2026
Do you like therapy dogs, craft beer, food trucks and supporting small local businesses? Then “Yappy Hour 2026 and The Bark Market” is the place to be. Please save the date and plan to join us for an evening of family fun and friendly competition to see which of our Pawsitive Impact Therapy Dogs will be crowned 2026 Champion on September 26, 2026 at Sobel’s Obscure Brewery.
